Pet Medicine

Flea/tick control is very important for your pet. Besides being uncomfortable, fleas and ticks carry diseases, such as tapeworms or Lyme disease, that can be transmitted to your pet via ingestion or via the bite of the flea/tick. We now have 3 excellent methods of flea/tick preventative to suit every patient's need!
Heartworm is a parasite transmitted via the bite of an infected mosquito. During a blood meal, the mosquito transmits larva (immature heartworms) into the bloodstream which then reach the heart where they will mature into adults. Clinical signs may not develop for years after infection. Signs include exercise intolerance, coughing, and trouble breathing. Heartworm disease can be fatal. Fortunately, heartworm is preventable.
